The Quarry's Legacy and Future

The Eliot Quarry, nestled between the communities of Pleasanton and Livermore, has been providing the region building materials since the late 1800s. The quarry’s sand and gravel can be found in the concrete and asphalt that built many of the Tri-Valley homes, neighborhoods, schools, parks, roads and businesses. This is the quarry’s legacy.

CEMEX’s adopted reclamation and trail plan prepares the property for the day when the quarry’s supply of sand and gravel is depleted – a blueprint for how the quarry will transition to open space as the quarry prepares to shut down its operations, years from now.

Watch this project video see what CEMEX’s quarry will look like in the future – new pedestrian trails, a water conveyance system and environmental restoration!

This website was created to introduce the public benefits of CEMEX’s plan and to be responsive to neighbors as reclamation requires intermittent construction. We encourage neighbors to view the reclamation page for the project timetable and to request email updates.
